Check-out Policy
Students in grades PK-2 may check out one book for one week. Students in grades 3-8 may check out two books for one week. Books may be renewed on a weekly basis should there be no waiting list for the title and if the book is not already overdue.
The safe keeping of borrowed library books is the responsibility of every St. Paul student. Students are responsible for taking good care of borrowed materials and returning them to the library on time. All library books should be returned to the library mailbox located outside of the school cafeteria, or brought to the library. Please do NOT return books to the library mailbox after school has been dismissed.
Overdue/ Damaged/ Lost Materials Policy
Overdue books must be returned, and lost/damaged books must be paid for before another book may be checked out. Report cards are held at the end of each semester until overdue books are returned and/or all library fines are paid.
Overdue Book Returns: The due date is stamped in each book when checked-out. A ten cent fine per school day will be charged, beginning one week from the due date, until the book is returned to the library.
Lost or Damaged Books: Lost or damaged library books must be paid for before another book may be checked out. A book is considered lost when it is one month overdue. The replacement fee is the cost of the book plus a five dollar processing charge. Book replacement fees are non-refundable.
